The data archive projects under IPAC were submitting their funding proposals. IRSA is chartered to curate the science products of NASA’s infrared and submillimeter missions. In total, IRSA provides access to more than 700 billion astronomical measurements. The NASA Exoplanet Archive provides data and tools to support community discovery and characterization of exoplanets and their host stars. The NASA/IPAC Extragalactic Database (NED) is an information system provided to the astronomical community that facilitates and accelerates multi-wavelength research on objects beyond our Milky Way galaxy.

Part of the challenge was to create a single cover that incorporates all three projects into the IPAC brand. Not only that, another challenge was to create three individual covers for each project section that directly connect to the main cover while also maintaining their own identities.

The result was incorporating visual themes that could be tailored to each project, using actual data associated with them as well.
